The Biafo - Hispar Traverse
A traverse from Askole past Snow Lake and over Hispar La pass (5151 m) to Hunza Valley.

Each year only a few people trek across the Biafo and Hispar Glaciers which have a combined length of 122 km. The trek starts in Askole and enters the Biafo glacier the first day. We trek up the Biafo, camping in flower covered side valleys, passing the Latok Mountains. After 7 days of trekking we reach Snow Lake and spend one night on Hispar La (5151 m). From the pass we can enjoy one of the best mountain views in the world with Ogre (7285 m) and Snow Lake to the east and the mountains of the Hunza to the west. We continue down the Hispar Glacier and complete our trek in Hispar Village. We spend on night in Karimabad in the Hunza Valley where we have excellent views of Rakaposhi (7788 m) and three other 7000 m peaks. After a trip up to Kunjerab Pass (4733 m) on the Chinese border we follow the Karakoram Highway back to Islamabad (880 km).
