A trek to Kala Pattar and Everest Base Camp starting in Lukla (2800 m)  after an exciting and spectacular 45 min. flight from Kathmandu. After two days of trekking we reach Namche Bazaar (3440 m), the colorful Sherpa capital and the biggest of Nepal’s highland bazaars. We spend one day acclimatization and  exploring Namche Bazaar and Kumjung (3790 m). After Namche we visit Khumbu’s most famous monastery in Tengboche (3867 m), idyllically set on alpine meadows below the beautiful Ama Dablam (6856 m) with Everest and Lhotse dominating the skyline to the north-east. From Thengboche we move on to the high pastures of Dingboche (4350 m) where we spend a day acclimatization before moving on to Lobuche (4930 m). Kala Pattar (5600 m) is climbed from Lobuche and we stop in Gorak Shep (5160 m) on the way.  The next day we visit Everest Base Camp. The return follows the same route back to Lukla for another exciting flight back to Kathmandu.
