This is the easiest and most popular route on Kilimanjaro. You stay in huts and there are no technical difficulties. It is possible to do the climb in five days (four nights) but our program includes one extra day for acclimatization at Horombo hut (3600 m). This extra day greatly increases the chances of reaching the summit and also makes the climb a more enjoyable experience.

Day Outline Itinerary
Fly from home country to Kilimanjaro airport. Overnight in Moshi.
Drive to Marangu Gate (1980 m). Hike to Mandara Hut (2700 m).
Mandara to Horombo (3700 m).
Rest and acclimatization day at Horombo. Daytrip up towards the saddle or all the way to Mawenzi hut.
Horombo to Kibo Hut (4700 m).
Summit day! Start early around 1 AM to reach Gillmans Point (5680 m) on the crater rim before sunrise. From Gillmans you follow the rim for another two hours up to Uhuru Peak (5896 m). Return to Horombo.
Horombo to Marangu Gate. Drive back to hotel in Moshi.
Shopping/sightseeing in Moshi and return to home country.
