Citta Hospital in Simikot -
Western Nepal
Contruction of a shelter for
families of hospital patients.
In the Simikot region there are no
roads so those patients that are unable to walk are carried to the hospital
by their families. We are now supporting the constructon of an accommodation
block for families.

Our project in Simikot in the very
remote Humla region of western Nepal is now well underway. We hope to get
materials inn to Simikot by air before the snow closes the airport. The plan
is to complete this building by spring 2009. This spring and summer up to 35
construction workers have been busy working on this two story building.
Currently two floors have been completed and we hope to be able to
get the roof completed before the winter.
Dr. Yeshe Lodoe Lama
Dr. Yeshe Lodoe Lama is the founder of Citta Nepal and he
comes from a poor family of the Humla region. He graduated from the
Institute of Medical Science Banaras Hindu University in 1999. He has
dedicated his life to help the poor people of the Humla region and with the
help of friends he has constructed the Citta Hospital in Simikot. The
hospital has 22 rooms and started operation in June 2003.
