Uzbekistan

Architectural splendors along the Silk Road

Uzbekistan is the most historically fascinating of the Central Asian republics. Located between the Amu-Darya and Syr-Darya rivers, Uzbekistan occupies the heartland of Central Asia, sharing a border with all the other 'Stans'. The ancient towns of Samarkand and Bukhara used to be the Silk Road's main centers and contains most of the region's architectural splendors.

EcoExpeditions offers a tour along the ancient trade routes with visits to the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.
