Kazakhstan is the world’s ninth biggest country is about the size of Western Europe with its 2.5 mill km². Most of the country is dry steppe with beautiful mountains along the Kyrgyzstan and China borders. The Tian Shan mountains offers superb mountaineering, trekking and mountain biking as does the Zailiysky Altau and Kungey Altau mountains, accessible from Amaty on daytrips.
