Equipment Checklist and Information

Below we have prepared an equipment checklist that that you can use when packing. This is only a suggested list of equipment and each person should modify the list according to their personal preferences. Your packed trek pack should not weigh more than 15 kg at the start of the trek.

Equipment Checklist - Trekking

Head
 
Sunglasses with UV protection
Warm fleece or wool hat
Sunhat or cap

 

Hands
 
Lightweight gloves
Heavyweight mittens with a waterproof shell outer

 

Feet
 
Thin inner socks (2)
Thick hiking socks (2)
Hiking boots with spare laces
Camp shoes (tennis shoes and/or sandals)
Gaiters

 

Body
 
Underwear (4)
T-shirts (2)
Shorts
Light and expedition weight thermal underwear
Fleece or wool pants
Fleece jacket
Lightweight long trekking pants
Waterproof shell jacket and pants
Down jacket (optional)

 

Accessories
 
Daypack
Sleeping bag rated to minus 20 degrees Celsius
Sleeping pad
Large plastic bags - for keeping items dry inside your pack
Basic First Aid Kit
Headlamp with spare bulbs and batteries
Water bottles (2Xone liter)
Toiletries
Small wash towel

Equipment Check List - Climbing Trips

In addition to the suggested list of trekking equipment  you need to bring the following items of mountaineering equipment on our climbing trips and on some of the trekking trips. These items come in addition to the 15 kg weight limit for your trek pack.

Climbing harness 
Climbing sling 
Two locking carabiners
Plastic mountaineering boots
Mountaineering ice axe 
Crampons with front points.
